Currently there are two major developments proposed that will significantly change the Caloundra CBD market.

Firstly, a major hotel group – I.H.G. Hotels and Resorts aligning with Holiday Inn Travel – have lodged with Council an application for a multi-storey 160 room hotel plus restaurant, cafe, meeting facilities, plus a rooftop restaurant and sky bar; this follows the opening of 181 room Holiday Inn Maroochydore in 2022. The site is the corner of Bulcock and Minchinton Streets, 51-55 Bulcock Street. The site was formally developed by the late Aldo Bevacqua and will enjoy panoramic views from the upper levels.

Secondly, vacant land at the Oaks Hotels Resort in Landsborough Parade adjacent to the CBD has a proposed 98 low-rise apartment development, “The Palms,” currently in Council. A timeline will be announced when the complex is approved. the proposal is to cate for permanent and holiday markets.

Lastly, the site for the proposed Paloma Paloma site encompassing the corner of Bulcock Street, Canberra Terrace and Knox Avenue has a new sold sign onsite, however we do not have any details of the continuing saga of the site.
